Historically, the Advanced Level Test Manager exam was notorious for massive, multi-page scenarios and highly complex, multi-correct answer options. Version 3.0 fixes this, making the exam structural updates highly candidate-friendly:
- Fewer Questions: Reduced from 65 down to 50 multiple-choice questions.
- Clearer Format: Dropped the confusing “select two out of five” format. Questions now feature a clean four-option, single-correct answer layout.
- Direct Passages: Scenario texts are shortened and punchier to test your real-world strategy application, not your reading speed under pressure.
- Time Limit: A base limit of 120 minutes (with a 25% time extension bonus available for non-native speakers).
- Passing Score: Requires achieving 65% of the total available marks.
Prerequisites: To sit for the CTAL-TM v3.0 exam, you must already hold an ISTQB Foundation Level (CTFL) certificate. At least six months of practical software testing or development experience is highly recommended.
